This is a paper/ fabric installation piece Su Blackwell created for the Bronte parsonage, the installations respond to the people who lived there and the nature of the rooms they are in. I think this is appropriate for the nature of this current project and really inspiring as I want to create 3D work for my outcome.

V&A
Embroidery
Really wanted to try using embroidery again, so have done a couple of small samples based on simple sketches i have done. The problem with using this medium in the time constraint is that I will have to create a simple design, and Joan's story is so epic. Anyway going to work hard to try and find away, hopefully!
St Joan of Arc Portraits
I'm finding it quite hard to draw her, firstly because I only have other people's interpretations as reference. Secondly while she wore masculine clothing and cut her hair short I still wanted her to remain slightly feminine. Don't think I have quite got the balance right.
Biography, St Joan of Arc
For this project I have to illustrate the life story of St Joan of Arc. A very quick synopsis of her life is as follows: she was born in france in about 1412, she saw visions of angels who told her to drive the english out of France. She lead the french army to important victories in the latter part of the Hundred year war, in particular relieving the Siege of Orleans in 1428-29. She was later captured, imprisoned and put on trial by the english. She was burnt at the stake for sorcery and heresy in 1431 aged nineteen. She was canonised in 1920.

This is our final Manifesto document for our secretive, reclusive society. We decided to carry on using the stamps but each member has decorated and embellished in their own way. This is my book:
