The Periodic Table, Primo Levi
An introductory project for Primo Levi's collection of short stories. These books are based on the story of Lead, focusing on Levis's use of language. Although I struggled, it was a really useful way analysing the text in greater detail.

Summer Holiday
A few photos from my summer holidays. I bought a lomography camera in New York and over the long break took the opportunity to experiment with colour and black and white films. I think I need a lot more practice!

Joan of Arc, final outcome
Here are a few photos of my final work for the biography project (better ones to come!). I have made three books, one exploring the prophecy of a maiden, her life and then her sainthood. I felt this would be an interesting way to tell her story, but I really wished I had pushed myself further. (I was mainly restricted by lack of time.) Nonetheless I feel that telling her story through her words, means the viewer has a much stronger connection with the real person she was, even if it was 600 years ago.

Su Blackwell, Bronte Parsonage
This is a paper/ fabric installation piece Su Blackwell created for the Bronte parsonage, the installations respond to the people who lived there and the nature of the rooms they are in. I think this is appropriate for the nature of this current project and really inspiring as I want to create 3D work for my outcome.

Embroidery
Really wanted to try using embroidery again, so have done a couple of small samples based on simple sketches i have done. The problem with using this medium in the time constraint is that I will have to create a simple design, and Joan's story is so epic. Anyway going to work hard to try and find away, hopefully!
