Camberwell Needs......

A CABLE CAR

or to be more precise 'Zip Wire'!

This was a week long collaborative project which spread across all the design subjects. My group consisted of Anna Baldwin (Illustration), Sam Hart (Graphic Design) and Yuan-Tang Lin (3D Design).

Our idea stemmed from a brainstorming session from which we decided to focus on Camberwell needs to look up at the beautiful architecture and  Camberwell Needs a direct transport link to Central London. We decided that a Cable Car from the 'Shard' to Camberwell was the best solution.

Anna and I worked on a poster, combing both our illustrations of buildings to show the direct benefits this mode of transport would bring. The process of creating the poster was really interesting, we thought in depth about the message we were portraying and altered the image from a decorative map which took you  literally 'around the houses' to a direct line which was much clearer.

It was interesting to see how Sam used my drawings and being involved with the process of designing a logo. The 3D piece is amazing! The doors actually open and close.

The quick turn around required for this project meant I couldn't be too precious with my drawing I couldn't include all the detail I usually would and needed the line to be bold so I used a brush pen. Nonetheless I'm quite pleased with them, they are different and I enjoyed doing quick drawings.

The original sketches (we used photocopies for the poster).
